People call the autumn season the ‘calm before the storm’ and, to be honest, it is very quiet in town at the moment! However, you may not realize that autumn can offer us some beautiful sunny days and a colourful flora. It can also be the best time of year to play golf in Verbier if you can manage a round without interference from the infamous fox!
Even on cloudy rainy or even snowy(!) days, there are still many things to do:
* Lavey les Bains: Have you ever been to the thermal baths in Lavey? Only 40 mins by car from Verbier;
* Lac Souterrain: A beautiful underground lake near Sion- see the earlier post on the summer camps website for more information;
* Chamonix: Good weather or bad weather, there is always something to do in Chamonix, only 1 hour and 10 mins from Verbier;
At the end of the day you can enjoy a nice dinner in town, as many of the restaurants are open in the autumn. On the menu you’ll find the hunting season specialties, something you should experience at least once in your life! Mountain goat, deer, doe… all local specialties are on the menu. And don’t worry, the hunting season is there to protect the flora and keep the animal populations at a controlled level.
And what about the foxes? Yes, these guys are hunting golf balls right now, enjoy the weekend!
