After a snowy start to the season in November, we are now enjoying a dry and sunny December! Perhaps a bit too dry as the snow depth is reducing a couple of centimetres every day. However, we are lucky that the 4Vallées area is higher than most European resorts and luckily we are expecting a dump of snow later on this week!
The snow conditions are still good higher up at Lac des Vaux and Attelas. La Chaux and Attelas-Ruinettes are still in good condition, but be aware of some hidden stones on the slopes. Underneath Ruinettes is looking patchy and we really need some snow later this week to make sure we all can enjoy a wonderful Christmas week. Savoleyres and Bruson are not open yet due to the current snow conditions, but we have been told that Televerbier is planning to open these areas from the weekend.
The biggest news of today is that a front of snow will arrive in the Western Alps on Thursday morning. Colder air will bring some snowfall for about 24-36 hours. Of course we don’t know how much yet, but it might be around 20-40 centimetres over here in Verbier.
A promising forecast for the holiday weeks, looking forward to see you here!
