This weekend Verbier opened for the fourth weekend of the new 2014-2015 winter season. After a week without any snowfall we had our fingers crossed whether it would still be possible to ski down to Ruinettes and La Chaux. Surprisingly, Televerbier ‘made the impossible possible’ and managed to move snow and remove a lot of stones on the slopes maintain the pistes. Thanks to them we were able to ski all the way down to Ruinettes, we could enjoy the James Blunt chairlift and it was even possible to ski to La Chaux.
Ski lifts open every day
From Saturday the lifts are now open every day until the end of the season. Last night we received some fresh snow above Ruinettes, not enough to call it a powder day but at least something.
There are not high expectations for a new snowfall for the next ten days, although on the local forecast there is a bit of fresh snow expected now and then. The good news is that it is still early on in the season and over three weeks to go until Christmas.
Ski instructor Gap course
Yesterday we welcomed the new group of Altitude Futures BASI Gap course students. Over the coming ten weeks the students will follow the BASI 1 & 2 ski instructor courses and will assist our ski instructors over the Christmas and New Year holiday period. We are happy to welcome them to Verbier!
