For the fourth consecutive year the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra Camp, operated by the Verbier Festival in conjunction with the Altitude Summer Camps team, was a huge success. The students had a fantastic 3 weeks meeting and working with some of the world’s greatest musicians, performing in the Verbier Festival concert hall and making some great friends along the way.
What is the Verbier Music Camp?
Young musicians from around the world come together to enjoy three wonderful weeks in the idyllic Verbier region. Our Altitude Summer camp leaders are on hand to take care of the students when they are not rehearsing. Students enjoy free time after rehearsals when they can relax, sports or get in some last minute practice. Meanwhile our camp chefs prepare the evening meal in the chalet. In the evenings our team organize some activities such eveing wlaks or fire-building.
Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra
Launched in 2013, the Verbier Festival Music Camp has evolved into the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra (VFJO), an international training programme for 15 to 18 years old musicians led by British star-conductor Daniel Harding. Over a period of three weeks the young musicians rehearse and perform alongside talented young instrumentalists from all over the world and dive into the fascinating world of the Verbier Festival.
