The liftman Alain told me today it’s been more than ten years ago when Verbier opened the first piste so early in the season. Today, 2nd of November 2012, we’ve made our first runs at Lac des Vaux with a lovely 5cm of freshies!
Thanks to the snowfall of last weekend we received a great message this week: “Verbier opens Friday!” Of course the village is not ready to start the season yet, but we do like this early opening. Only the Lac des Vaux piste is open now, but to be honest we also skied down to Ruinettes and I can tell you, it was not bad at all (but, beware of the tiny rocks). With the 5-10cm fresh snow of last night we could enjoy a bit of powpow all the way down!
Tomorrow another day at the slope, winter is there!
