Champex Lac is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the Valais region. The village is located at 1.500 meters altitude, on the shores of a stunning mountain lake. It offers a wide variety of trails for skiing in winter and biking or hiking in the summer, located just in front the famous Massif du Mont-Blanc.
Winter
Champex-Lac is known for its great powder skiing. The small ski resort is very rarely busy and has some of the best tree skiing in the region. However, due to a fire in September last year the two main chairlifts, La Breya 1 and 2, were closed for the season last winter. This summer the lift will be repaired and is planned to be re-opened this winter again.
Summer
In summer the lake of Champex is the main attraction, especially when temperatures are high there is no better place to be! Pedalos and kayaks are available for rent, stand up paddling and swimming are also popular. The area is also well-known for its biking and hiking trails and when the chairlift is open again next summer the beautiful view from the top is worth a trip up!
