What to bring to our kids group ski lessons?
Before you leave in the morning, make sure your child or teenager has the following with them:
- Is ready to ski and dressed in appropriate ski wear with ski/snowboard boots on
- Has all their equipment including skis and poles or a snowboard, helmet (compulsory) and goggles or sunglasses
- Has CHF 5 – 10 per day for a hot chocolate or snack during the break
Has a valid ski pass in their pocket (left hand side) valid for the Verbier ski area if levels 1-5 or the 4 Vallees area if level 6-7 (Extreme kids)
Arriving at the Verbier childrens group lessons meeting point
Our meeting point is located in Verbier, outside the ‘Lumi’ Restaurant opposite the main Medran lift station. This is unique to Altitude and is a very convenient and central meeting point.
Please try and arrive around 5 – 10 minutes early to the group lesson meeting to allow time to meet the instructor and for the lesson to leave on time. Our childrens instructor will be happy to chat with you about your child’s ability level, exchange contact details and let you know the plan for the day.
Getting to the slopes
Once the instructor has everyone joining that morning, it’s time to head to the slopes! For beginners, this means heading either to the Les Esserts beginner area in Verbier which is a short bus ride. For more advanced skiers they will head to areas on the mountain best for the groups ability level.
Morning skiing or snowboarding
If it’s the first morning, the instructor will get the group warmed up and ready to ski with some quick on-the-snow games, so everyone can get to know each other, then it’s time for skis or snowboards on!
On the first day this will involve assessing the skiing or snowboarding level of all the children in the group, and making sure they are able to ski at this level. There may be some group changes to make sure everyone is matched up to ski with others of a similar ability.
Morning break and more skiing!
After a good ski, it’s time for a break, so an opportunity for a quick snack, hot chocolate, and toilet break! In the colder months this is always inside as an opportunity to warm up is very important. Then it’s time for some more skiing!
Home time for those in half-day lessons
At 12h00 the group will ski back down with their instructor to the meeting point or take the bus or lift if they cannot ski down due to their ability level, where children are collected by parents/guardians. In Verbier this is at the Medran lift station, the main lift station in Verbier.

Lunch time (for full days)
For those booked into full day lessons, at 12 they will head for lunch where children are served a set main course. Dietary requirements can be catered for, but please make sure you inform us on booking. Lunch is from 12pm-1pm.
Afternoon ski or snowboard lessons
The full day group option will continue the ski or snowboard session into the afternoon, having fun, and continuing to develop each skiers skills through fun and enjoyable exercises , games and team challenges.
Home time for full day kids ski lessons
At 16h00 the group will head back down to the pick-up point or take the bus or lift, where children are collected by parents/guardians from outside the main Medran lift station.
